Chrome translator

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

So that’s just bloody great. If you are using google chrome like me, you might have noticed that google was so friendly to add a autotranslator to the browser this week. Noone asked for it, noone needed it, but still, they assumed we would all love it and accept it. To easen this process, they automatically installed this in the last update, without anyone’s consent. And the nice thing is, there is not hide/shut off/delete button for this application. Well thanks f*ck all for that.

I thought the engineers at Google were some of the smartest on this planet, but apparently they seem to forget that dictatorship doesn’t work in this world. So, im rolling back to firefox now, which is a shame since Chrome was the fastest browser around.

I did search for a solution online and found a pretty hilarious thread on google’s support forum.

If you are really considering still using Chrome in an unsafe untested version, but really HATE the translator, here you can find the solution how.

Avatar (2009)

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

So I’ve finally managed to watch Avatar. Didnt wanna wait to see this one on DVD on my laptop or telly. Glad, really really glad I went to the cinema for this.

I have to be honest, the first time I heard about this movie and the fact that it was gonna be 3D, didnt give me any high hopes. I still remember the first 3D movie I saw at Warner Brothers movieworld in Germany. Which was Terminator if im not mistaken. Funny, yes. But not that great. Remember the green, red glasses you had to wear? What a piece of crap that was. heh.

I see that the quality of the glasses have improved. The ones that were handed out in the cinema here where like small goggles. Better quality, but still after 30 minutes, starting to hurt your nose. And I have a big nose. Plus Avatar was friggin 3 hours long, imagine!

But NOT a BAD word about the movie…actually Avatar shouldn’t be allowed to be called a movie, but instead an experience. A SPLENDID experience that is. Amazing graphics (You can’t see the difference between real and the CG which is new, the facial animation was TOPNOTCH!

The environments where aboslutely STUNNING! The following image just DOESN’T do it justice

And the GUI design WAS Sweeeeeeeeeet.

further more great story and a SUPERB cast. I loved every minute of it. Couldn’t believe it was actually 3 hours, seemed much shorter.

If you get the chance go see it IN THE CINEMA. Dont download it or wait for the DVD bitches!

HD Trailer here!! (right mouse click to download)
